Reunion

So I guess it is time for me to write about how my TEN year reunion turned out! I mean after all, TEN years has past since we have seen everyone (okay, less than ten if you include simchas) But still, TEN years is a long time. I can't believe that I am out of Highschool for TEN years, afterall most of my readers are still in Highschool. Okay, not most, but I do feel the oldest from the "chevra" out there.

So, I got there early. Remember, now I am an out of towner. I dont live local anymore but I still felt bad that I wasn't around for the meetings. I did my fair share for the reunion. I made my calls. I made my inquiries from my fellow classmates and forwarded it on to those who were putting all the info together. So I was there to greet people! Just in time! :-) if I may say so myself!

People started showing up. We were not 100 hundred percent sure who was going to show and who wasn't and we laid out money for a certain amount of girls. We were hoping that at least they showed up to pay! After all, no one wanted to be out any amount of money!!

BH we had a nice turn out. Not everyone showed up. But that is to be expected. I mean we have two living in Eretz Yisroel, so we didn't count on them to come in. But we had the Baltimorians and Cleveland girls come, JUST for the reunion which was amazing!! Of course the Passaic girls came. But no Lakewood classmates. A few locals didnt show, and some singles didnt show either, but some did! So go figure. All in all it was great to see everyone. I mean I got to see and speak to some that I haven't really spoken to since we graduated! Some changed, other things didn't.

I managed to find some old highschool pictures and brought them along so everyone could get a good laugh at the old hairstyles, and glasses that we wore. We remembered most incidents which was good to remember because the one game we played was "Remembering something from highschool. and how I am different/same since highschool" It was very cute trying to figure out who wrote what they did. And boy did we learn things that we never knew...and some that we wish we didn't hear! :-)

One who co-organized the reunion got all the info that the four of us gathered and put together and updated class list. What she did, was copy the yearbook pictures and on the following page gave out our bio. Our name, new address and any info we shared (job, shul, kids...stay at home mom..) the biggest surprise I had was that MOST of the girls do NOT have emails!! The girls who I expected to have did NOT! I just do not get it! Why not?! Even if they do not work...but I guess that is life.

Anyway I gotta run. I took some pictures and need to upload them to my computer so I can pass it along to those who are in the 20th century...and have email!

Anyway, for those out there...Reunions are fun. It was very nice to see everyone and hope to keep in touch with them via email even if we dont talk everyday! I do keep in touch with a few girls on a regular basis and some no so regular, but still it is the same. Some of my friends go way back to age SEVEN! WOW, now I feel old!

Enjoy highschool now. Plan on a reunion and help make one when the time comes! It is interesting to see how everyone turned out and who is where we thought they would be and ......Well...just sign and let me know what you think...
