Reunion
I received this email from a highschool classmate of mine. I was wondering what she has to say since I don't normally hear from her and have not heard from her in a long long time. So I read the email, and it read as follows "Hi Ifuncused! It is time for our 10th year reunion from Highschool...." TEN years?!?! When did that happen? Is it really ten years? Can it be? Let me do the math....uh, I guess she is right! Wow has time flies.
My next question is like this. How are we going to get ahold of 45 graduates! (Yes Gishmak, we had 45 graduates!). There will always be a few who get lost in the networking. Even after calling the parents...what do you do when the parents give you their daughters phone number and you call it and find out that it is the wrong number?
And the other question is, who do you invite? Do you invite just the graduate?Wha happens to the girls who left for 12th grade and did early admission to college? Or when to a different HS for 12th grade? Or when you "lost" some girls through out the year because they went to a different HS for the remaining of the years or got married.
Another problem is as such. I keep in touch with a group of friends. We call each other, and we keep each other posted on our classmates. We don't all talk to the same girls due to time restraints or what have you, but in general we are all happy with who we are in touch with. Why have a reunion? Am I really interested in what XYZ is up to since the last time I saw her was two years ago at someones wedding or something like that? If I do not speak to her or if I do not think of her, why would I want to see what she is up to? It is not that I do not like her, it is just that....we don't have much to do with one another...and that is the case with many of the girls. So why bother?!
But, as I am thinking and working with ideas...I think it would be great. I can pull out the old yearbook "features" that never made it into our "features" section since we never had a features section. Use it as a base for games and all sorts of ice breakers for the reunion. But I am going to go through the same old questions with the people I don't speak with on a regular basis, almost like speed dating. Spend thirty seconds with each girl and find out nothing useful. Use the same old questions...where do you live? what do you do? etc etc etc....NAH not interested in that.
But I think I am interested in seeing my old classmates. I would like to see those who I don't get a chance to keep in touch with...for whatever reason...and exchange emails with others... Oh, I forgot...email, no one has email! Go figure!
So, after thinking about it...I decided that I am excited about this and want to get a hold of everyone who was in my grade over the course of the four years of highschool. Best if they were in my class for more than one year. I think they might come, just to be curious...as I am....
What do you guys think???????
