OLD

Okay. I am getting too old. My JM readers are going to hate me after reading this, so be forewarned!

I finally got to go to the Dedi MBC concert last night! For those of you who knew about fiasco about an extra ticket, I ended up going with my DH. We got there an hour late partially due to the fire across the street (another hock) and the car was blocked in by the trucks and closed off street, and partially due to not knowing where the place was. But we made it there, an hour late, but that was just fine with me! I am way tooo old to be going to a Miami Boys Choir concert! Really! I am!
Can someone explain it to me? They sang all the old songs that I knew back in the days when I used to go to concerts! And that is FIVE years ago plus (hint, my 5th anniversary is next week (chanie you know the date). No new songs, and no motions, just singing and solos.
Then the long awaited DEDI showed up on stage. He livened things up with his songs and humor. I haven't seen him in sooo long I was surprised when he came out...He lost a ton of weight! Good for him. No more jokes about Kosher Delight (or maybe none last night because we were in NJ and not in NYC!) His songs were great as usual! That was why I went! To hear him sing!! But most of his songs were on his first two CD's and I have them already for many years! I guess the crowd was sponsoring Israel, so he sang most of his Chevron songs etc.. Either way he was great. Then we had intermission.
Can someone explain the newest singers? Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen...Oops did I just write that, I mean the twins who are thirteen years old and Yerachmiel B is producing an album for them! I forget their name, but it was funny hearing them talk. Hi, I am ____ and I am ____. We were born thirteen years ago, and because my brother ___ was born nine minutes before me, he gets to introduce the next song! Go figure...Were the guitar playing real?? I didn't hear the noise..And only one looked like he knew what he was doing, while the kid with the electric guitar was clueless!
Then MBC came back on, and did some songs, and of course sang their Chanukah songs, which I like and Nikadesh, which I love..But like the original one (six years ago?) better. This time they moved around and danced a bit...Which was a little better than nothing. Surprised to see Yerachmiel B introduce all the kids, and made some kids take a bow two or three times depending on the cheers he got. (some are from this neck of the woods so they had a big crowd cheering them on. Then he made the two brothers wave, and pointed out that there are brothers in the choir (is that a first?) One was real young and one was on his way out sort of.
I found the next Nathan Stark and other dude who was with Nathan way back when. Again, one is blond and one is tall, skinny and dark. Go figure, it brought back memories of when I actually enjoyed going to these concerts.
Sorry my dear JM readers, this was a no go for me! But please recommend some good new CD's, as it has been a looong time since I have bought something...Though I am interested in checking out the Yeshiva Boys Choir!
A freilichin Chanukah to all.
Don't forget to sign....
